No Platinum Trophy to Hunt in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 for PS5

As the Platinum Trophy Hunting Wife, this came both as a shock and a disappointment as I started my Platinum Trophy Hunting in PS5.

The Platinum Trophy Dilemma

A Platinum trophy is awarded to players who have unlocked all other trophies in a game. It's a badge of honor, a testament to a player's dedication and skill. However, in the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, this coveted trophy is missing from the PS5 version.

It is going to take away that sense of true completion of the game. Players can earn a total of 44 trophies on the PS5, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies. These trophies cover a wide range of challenges across the game's campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes, ensuring that there are still plenty of goals to strive for.

But at the end, there will be no Platinum Trophy that will pop up as you complete the last accomplishment.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III - No Platinum Trophy

Much like this newest release, the previous Call of Duty was also missing a Platinum Trophy.

The decision to exclude a Platinum trophy from Modern Warfare 3 is tied to how the game is categorized within Sony's system. Similar to other expansions or add-ons, Modern Warfare 3 is considered an extension of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series rather than a standalone title. This categorization means it doesn't qualify for its own Platinum trophy.

So why was this not a bigger deal to me as Black Ops 6? Because I personally was not a big fan of CoD MW3 (especially the Campaign and Zombies). I did consider the installment as a DLC to Modern Warfare II, so it made sense to me.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 - No Platinum Trophy

As I write this blog post, I have not played the campaign of this latest CoD, but do we really consider this as a DLC? As an Add-on to Modern Warfare 2?

With this new CoD HQ, it seemed like they could just say it’s a DLC for the same price as a full game and take away the Platinum Trophy for PS5 players.

With that disappointment, would I still play the game? Definitely! I will play the game, try to enjoy it and have fun. But will I strive to get all the trophies knowing there is no Platinum Trophy to collect? Perhaps if they are worth it.

But I will not hunt these trophies for hours on end just to fall short of the ultimate Platinum Trophy I have set to hunt.
