Learn all weapon abilities

There is a total of 24 weapons (six for each character) with unique abilities attached to each. To achieve this trophy, equip the weapon and use the ability until the Proficiency requirement reached 100%

Cloud Strife's Weapons

Buster Sword

A large broadsword that has inherited the hopes of those who fight.

Location: Default
Ability: Focused Thrust
Lunge toward an enemy with a piercing strike that hits multiple times. Significantly increases stagger.

Iron Blade

A greatsword cast from carefully selected iron ore.

Location: Chapter 3 -- after clearing the Scrap Boulevard, return to Biggs and Wedge to get the new weapon
Ability: Triple Slash
Slash up to three enemies in quick succession. Hitting multiple foes increases its potency.

Proficiency Bonus: Strike three or more enemies

Nail Bat

A crudely reinforced baseball bat. Designed to beat the living tar out of anything and everything

Location: Chapter 8 -- after completing "Kids on Patrol" quest
Ability: Disorder
Deliver a devastating attack and switch modes in one fluid motion.

Proficiency Bonus: Strike with Attack or Strong Attack after switching modes.

Hardedge

A mighty blade able to cleave in one stroke anything foolish enough to stand in the wielder's way

Location: Wall Market - Weapon Shop
Ability: Infinity's End
Wind up and unlease an overhead strike. Increased damage on stagger. Costs 2 ATB

Proficiency Bonus: Strike a staggered enemy.

Mythril Saber

An immense sword made from magic-infused mythril ore.

Location: Chapter 14 - Wall Market Weapon Shop
Ability: Blade Burst
Unlease a wave of non-elemental mako energy at an enemy in front of you with a slash of your sword

Twin Stinger

A sword forged from two existing blades. Well suited for materia

Location: Chapter 17 inside a purple chest
Ability: Counterstance
Brace for attacks and retaliate with a powerful slash

Aerith Gainsborough's Weapons

Guard Stick

A vintage and well-cared-for staff. Also happens to be eco-friendly

Location: Default
Ability: Arcane Ward
Conjure a ward. Attack spells cast within the ward will automatically be cast twice.

Proficiency Bonus: Conjure a ward (one time only during activation)

Silver Staff

An elegant staff treated with silver. Perfect for those proficient in magic

Location: Chapter 8 - Moogle Shop
Ability: Sorcerous Storm
Deal magic damage to nearby enemies.

Proficiency Bonus: Strike two or more enemies

A staff infused with precious gems the color of twilight. Well suited for materia

Location: Chapter 9 - Complete "A Dynamite Body/Shears' Counterattack" Quest
Ability: Fleeting Familiar
Summon a fairy that attacks your enemies periodically as well as after you use abilities and spells.

Proficiency Bonus: Unlease a consecutive attack of an ability or spell (one time only during activation)

Mythril Rod

A rod made with mythril. Said to be a fabled mage's weapon of choice

Location: Chapter 11 - Purple chest after the first rat fight
Ability: Ray of Judgement
Fire an energy burst that hits multiple times. Increased stagger bonus damage. Costs 2 ATB

Proficiency Bonus: Strike a staggered enemy.

Bladed Staff

A staff sporting deadly blades on either end. Handle with care.

Location: Chapter 11 - Use "Steal" on Chapter 11 Boss.
Ability: Lustrous Shield
Conjure a magical shield that keeps enemies at bay and stops projectiles.

Proficiency Bonus: Strike a enemy (one time only during activation)

Reinforced Staff

A solid and durable staff experimentally produced in Hojo's laboratory.

Location: Chapter 17 - Purple chest in the first room of the chapter
Ability: ATB Ward
Conjure a magical ward. Allies who use ATB within in regain partial ATB from your gauge. Costs 2 ATB.

Proficiency Bonus: Conjure a ward (one time only during activation)

Barret Wallace's Weapons

Gatling Gun

A custom-order gun commissioned specifically to take down Shinra forces. Barret's longtime right-hand man.

Location: Default
Ability: Focused Shot
Consumes all ATB charges to unleash a concentrated burst of energy. Significantly increases stagger.

Proficiency Bonus: Stagger an enemy.

Light Machine Gun

A lethal, sturdy firearm with a large magazine

Location: Complete Chapter 6
Ability: Lifesaver
Take damage intended for other party members

Proficiency Bonus: Restore an ally's HP (one time only during activation)

Big Bertha

A firearm that boasts unrivaled destructive force. Found in the slums' black market.

Location: Chapter 13 - Weapon Shop in Sector 7
Ability: Maximum Fury
Consume all ATB charges to fire a long stream of bullets at an enemy.

Proficiency Bonus: Finish off an enemy

Steel Pincers

A close-combat weapon with steel blades designed to slice enemies to ribbons

Location: Chapter 14 - Moogle Shop
Ability: Charging Uppercut
Rush toward an enemy and launch them into the air with a furious blow. Increases Charge.

Proficiency Bonus: Top up energy reserve

Wreaking Ball

A close-combat weapon capable of pulverizing enermies with a sphere of solid steel

Location: Chapter 14 - Complete "Subterranean Menace" Quest
Ability: Smackdown
Strike the ground and send nearby enemies flying.

Proficiency Bonus: Strike two or more enemies

EKG Cannon

A firearm whose accuracy is dependent upon the wielder's emotional state.

Location: Chapter 16 - Purchase from Hart
Ability: Point Blank
Consumes all ATB Charges to deliver a close-range attack and send enemies flying

Leather Gloves

Well-worn leather gloves that have seen their fair share of fights

Location: Default
Ability: Divekick
Leap into the air and unlease a powerful kick.

Proficiency Bonus: Finish off an enemy

Metal Knuckles

Gloves reinforced with metal to pack an extra punch

Location: Defeat Chapter 5 Boss
Ability: Overpower
Use in conjunction with basic attacks to more effectively pressure enemies.

Proficiency Bonus: Follow up with a basic attack combo after using the weapon ability.

Sonic Strikers

Gloves with a sleek design. Well suited for setting materia.

Location: Chapter 7 - Inside a chest
Ability: Focused Strike
Evade, the unlease a charging attack. Moderately increases stagger.

Proficiency Bonus: Stagger an enemy

Feathered Gloves

Lightweight gloves embellished with feathers

Location: Chapter 10 - inside a chest
Ability: Starshower
Unleash a flurry of powerful strikes. Increases strength of next command executed.

Proficiency Bonus: Follow up with offensive ability or magic after using the weapon ability.

Mythril Claws

Gloves with razor-sharp talons made of magic-infused mythril

Location: Defeat Chapter 13 boss
Ability: Chi Trap
Create an orb of materialized chi that deals damage on contact

Proficiency Bonus: Strike an enemy.

Purple Pain

Leather gloves made from the hide of a ferocious beast.

Location: Chapter 16 before the start of hanging bars
Ability: True Strike
Deliver a tremendous blow at close range. Increased stagger damage bonus.
